Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, coordinates the efforts of Central Supply (CS) to ensure the delivery of quality patient care. Designs and sets up new and existing inventory locations, utilizing available data to optimize PAR levels and capture supply charging. Manages the inventory for the Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology and GI specialty areas. Acts as a liaison between Central Supply and the nursing units addressing supply needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Sets up, maintains and supports Pyxis supply stations and non-Pyxis supply par locations. Evaluates and establishes the proper PAR levels, min max, or reorder points based on historical usage data and projected data. Utilizes PAR optimization software to establish and revise par levels. Works with the department, MMIS and CS operations to establish the appropriate replenishment schedule and stocking scenario. (20%)
  • Works with department managers to optimize supply carts or Pyxis stations. Is the liaison between the department managers and Central Supply coordinating all additions or subtractions of supplies on the supply carts. (20%)
  • Assists the Supply Chain Logistics Manager in the development and implementation of special project plans for nursing units and specialty areas. Gains understanding of the areas workflow, gathers information and data in order to make informed recommendations for the optimal design of the storage area. Once implemented the Coordinator works with clinical staff and makes adjustments as needed. (20%)
  • Conducts PAR optimizations on all areas of responsibility once per year. Uses established reports to collect data and create an informed analysis and present recommended changes. Works with unit manager to make adjustments to PAR levels and add or delete items as necessary. (20%)
  • Maintains the COR Cart inventory and reports to the Code Blue committee as needed. Trains the Central Supply staff on the COR cart replenishment process according to the Joint Commission standard and Denver Health policy. (20%)

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Work Experience:

  • 4-6 years working in an inventory or supply chain field required.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Pyxis supply stations, and the Lawson inventory management system.
  • The ability to work independently on multiple projects.
  • Critical and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Knowledge of Lawson and Crystal Reports preferred.
