Supervises the operation and maintenance of facilities heating and chilling plants, campus mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, and preventive maintenance. Supervises the maintenance and monitoring of campus building automation systems, and energy management and metering systems. Manages assigned facilities improvement projects, including reviewing plans and specifications, and attending meetings for construction and improvement projects. Identifies energy efficiency projects and implements effective standards and procedures for the operation of HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, while maintaining comfortable and efficient indoor environments.

Responsibilities
-
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of campus equipment and systems. This includes the supervision of employees working in the HVAC, plumbing, electrical and preventive maintenance trades and the maintenance required for the continued operation of associated systems.
- Manage assigned construction and improvement projects, including aiding in project design, soliciting bid proposals, organizing project documents and paperwork, and maintaining project budgets.
- Oversee, prepare, and coordinate departmental budget and departmental purchases.
- Oversee and help monitor the energy management, metering, and building automated computer systems.
- Attend project meetings, discussions and walkthroughs, and advise and inspect in order to promote HVAC, plumbing and electrical system effectiveness and efficiency, and proper installation and commissioning.
- Assist in inspections and policy and procedure enforcement.
- Initiate and develop energy efficiency projects and procedures. This includes but is not limited to: retrofits, upgrades, or improvements in devices, controls, and equipment, building envelope, or HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
- At least five years' related experience required.
- Ability to analyze, understand and make decisions regarding problems involving energy management and complex mechanical and operational systems.
- Ability to effectively manage projects and processes, including bids, paperwork, reports, personnel management, budgets, and aiding in project design.
- Proficiency in using BAS computers and assessing energy data from the campus energy management systems. This includes being able to utilize portable technology (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) to communicate effectively and store/retrieve data, documents, photos, etc.
- Ability to compose emails, documents, reports, and spreadsheets effectively.
- Ability to effectively create, manage, and maintain a departmental budget.
- Ability to correctly operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to use verbal, written and electronic communication means to effectively communicate with individuals and organizations.
- Good overall knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
- Ability to effectively manage subordinate staff by coordination, communication, planning, direction, evaluation, discipline, and providing proper training with necessary tools and equipment.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $80,000-$85,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of October 2025.
