Production Scheduler
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Shift: 1st Shift (Flexible start time between 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM)
Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 annually, based on experience

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a Production Scheduler to support and optimize scheduling within their fabrication department. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient production flow, ensuring on-time delivery, and supporting daily manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong ERP experience, advanced Excel skills, and a background in sheet metal, stainless steel, or fabrication planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed production schedules for multiple departments, including sheet metal fabrication, sub-assemblies, and final assembly lines
- Collaborate daily with Area Managers, Production Supervisors, and Manufacturing Engineers to align schedules with department KPIs (SQDC metrics)
- Continuously monitor, adjust, and optimize the production schedule to address delays, material issues, or changing priorities
- Resolve material availability issues and coordinate with procurement as needed
- Release and manage work orders within the ERP system (Epicor preferred)
- Maintain and optimize lot sizes, reorder points, and production parameters for manufactured parts
- Work MRP exception messages to align supply with demand
- Track and manage WIP (Work in Process) and finished goods inventory to support future demand
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, safety, and lead times
- Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and support a culture of operational excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 3-5 years of production scheduling or planning experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ERP experience required; Epicor ERP preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, charting, macros)
- Experience with MRP systems, BOMs, routings, and master data
- Familiarity with sheet metal, stainless steel, or fabrication planning highly preferred
- Ability to operate effectively on the shop floor and coordinate with production teams
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and communication skills
- Lean manufacturing experience a plus
- APICS CPIM certification preferred
