Babbitt Tech Location: Milwaukee, WI Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday), Overtime Available (Including Saturdays) Compensation: $20 - $25/hour, Based on Experience Employment Type: Direct Hire We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Babbitt Tech to join our team on 1st shift. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a foundry or heavy industrial background who thrives in a physically demanding and hot work environment. The right candidate will be responsible for casting, assembling, and restoring components using high-temperature materials and specialized equipment. Key Responsibilities: Perform melting, casting, and pouring operations using 600F tin and 800F babbitt. Use oxy-acetylene torches, hand tools, grinders, and tape measures effectively and safely. Conduct sandblasting and part assembly according to specifications. Select appropriate fixtures for casting and assist in modifying them as needed. Work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety standards. Assist with leadership duties as needed, with potential to grow into a lead role within the department. Must be available to work overtime, including Saturdays. Preferred Qualifications: Foundry experience is strongly preferred. Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role is a plus. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Comfortable working in high-heat environments during summer months. Strong understanding of manual tools and basic measuring equipment.
