About the Department

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 450 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 118 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first non-Power Five program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics, Agency seeks applications for an Assistant Director, Creative Videographer (Assistant Creative Videographer). This is a full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package.



Reporting to the Director of Creative Video, the successful candidate will be expected to assist in the execution of artistic, cinematic video, hype pieces, and social media content that highlight staff, coaches, and student-athletes to generate excitement around athletic programs while following University of Cincinnati and departmental policies, NCAA Division I, and Conference bylaws and regulations.



The position requires some evening and weekend hours and travel with teams.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with department lead to edit videos and photos for a variety of promotional purposes.
  • Incorporate music, video, static & motion graphics, and VoiceOver to tell compelling and visually pleasing stories.
  • Attend university and athletic events to capture content.
  • Work closely with department lead to meet deadlines for release of content.
  • Setup and tear down video, photograph, and audio equipment before and after events.
  • Keep equipment in good working order.
  • Support day to day operations in logging and archiving of footage.
  • May be required to drive a university vehicle and/or student-athletes.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Experience capturing and editing video.
