In the role of Water Supply Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
- Provide strong analytical skills and sound judgment in performing project tasks based on clear, specified objectives, but within an environment of multiple variables which may require proactive communication for clarification.
- Specific duties may include: performing water supply planning analyses, performing surface water availability evaluations, developing water supply system models, completing water infrastructure risk and resiliency assessments, evaluating sustainable water practices/systems, quantifying water conservation savings with best management practices, implementation and environmental impact assessments of water supply projects, water rate and impact fee economic evaluations, data collection and field reconnaissance.
- Typical projects include conceptual planning-level water management strategy development, hydrologic and hydrogeologic analyses, water rights analysis and support, site visits to collect data and testing information, water rate and impact fee studies and utilizing HDR costing tool to prepare planning-level costs of water supply strategies. Candidate may also produce design calculations, GIS exhibits, and figures to assimilate model output or calculations for water resources projects.
- Conducts analyses of water supply options and develops recommendations and assists in planning level design and cost estimating.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Water Resources, Environmental engineering, Hydrology or closely related field required
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
- Master's degree in water resources related field preferred
- Interest/experience in water supply planning and development
- Interest/experience in water rights and water availability modeling
- Interest in economics, water rates, and impact fees.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and groundwater modeling software
- Quantitative data analysis skills
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
