What You Will Be Doing:
As the Public Relations Coordinator, you will be a key team member who takes on important assignments contributing to the marketing and success of the firm and its lawyers while building relationships with lawyers, administrative personnel, and news media contacts. You will play an administrative role in planning, organizing, and supporting the awards and surveys submissions process for the entire firm, and support the public relations (PR) team's media relations, website and social media activities, and related marketing functions. The successful candidate will have strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills; a detail-oriented approach; a collaborative mindset; the ability to work well under tight deadlines; superior written and oral communication skills, and social skills and confidence to interact appropriately with management/lawyers and personnel throughout the firm.


About This Role:

  • Performs daily administrative PR functions including the monitoring and preparation of daily, internally distributed news summaries of lawyer/firm media mentions; conducting research; process tracking, and liaising with vendors, etc.
  • Maintains media awards and surveys calendar. Coordinates survey responses and prepares award submissions for legal industry and business publications; works closely with various members of the firm community and news media contacts. Provides support to the legal directory team, as necessary.
  • Assists in drafting and posting web content to wilmerhale.com. Drafts news items, updates lawyer biographies and the firm's "solutions" pages, and coordinates client alerts and blog postings. Helps to maintain social media presence.
  • In collaboration with the Communications and Public Relations Manager and Clients & Markets Department leadership team, externally promotes deals, matters and other lawyer and practice highlights.
  • Provides general administrative support for the PR team, as well as special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Contributes to the firm's overall initiatives to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays professionalism, quality service and "can-do" attitude. An organized, hard-working, self-starter who possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced and highly professional environment.
  • Readiness to learn and work on technology platforms, including content management, email marketing, and client relationship management systems.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.




Required Skills


What You Will Bring/Your Qualifications:



  • Proven oral and written communication skills.


  • Precise attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under multiple supervisors in an atmosphere of multiple projects.


  • Strong time management skills to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.


  • Demonstrated experience working independently with minimum supervision.


  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.





Required Experience


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Experience:

  • 2 years of public relations, communications or marketing experience preferred.
  • Law firm or professional services experience a plus.
