The School of Public Policy (http://spp.gatech.edu/) has 63 faculty members and we instruct students in undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. programs. Job Summary

Provide promotional, administrative, performance assessment, and financial/accounting services in support of assigned program(s) within a research center, academic unit, or other campus units of a school. These functions may encompass a variety of activities related to program success including coordination of program marketing, program administration, program operations, and program development. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: research, academic and administrative management and staff with a school or center and across campus, vendors and sponsors. Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Design/develop promotional and marketing materials to include those developed for specific target audiences in support of program outreach efforts.
Job Duty 2 - Plan, schedule and coordinate promotional events.
Job Duty 3 - Coordinate administrative activities associated with program operations such as procurement, records maintenance, compliance, meeting arrangements and minutes, and document preparation.
Job Duty 4 - Develop, analyze, reconcile and report financial data related to program operations.
Job Duty 5 - Develop and maintain performance assessment tools applied in program review to measure and report progress.
Job Duty 6 - Collaborate with internal and external entities to aid institutional or program support.
Job Duty 7 - Perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

We are seeking a program manager to support partnerships, collaborations, and external communication for the Center for Urban Research. The individual will provide the following service:

  • Establish the Center's identity and online presence. This includes maintaining the Center's website, social media, newsletter, and other external communication channels.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to enhance collaboration across researchers, nonprofits partner organizations, policymakers, students, and neighborhood working groups. These entities, while all supporting neighborhood revitalization, are working in silos. A program manager would create opportunities for cross-collaboration and information sharing. Example opportunities include establishing lightning talks, panels, and placing students into partner organizations.
  • Cultivate "communities of practice" which include policymakers, practitioners, and researchers around 12 key areas (mental & physical health; housing; education; public safety; food; parks & trails; economic development; data, technology, and media; environmental health; civic and social infrastructure; transport; urban studies)
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to six years of job related experience

Proposed Salary

$64,935.00 - $74,841.00

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of research program promotion and administration. Included are skills in development and administering program assessment tools, marketing, and financial analysis and reporting. Also required are skills in planning, organization, spoken and written communications, scheduling and customer service. Use of office and specialized computer applications and databases are required.
