The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Attorney Recruiting Coordinator to join our Washington, D.C. office. The Senior Attorney Recruiting Coordinator works closely with the Attorney Recruiting Supervisor and Senior Manager to provide support in a variety of areas, including the summer program, event planning and attendance, on-campus and lateral hiring, database management and special projects.

  • Coordinates all aspects of the on-campus interviews (OCI) and pre-OCI recruiting process and registration process at targeted schools, including applicant tracking, compiling information packets and schedules for pre-OCI and on-campus interviewers, gathering evaluations, making travel arrangements and planning social events and follow-up.
  • Coordinates Skadden 1L Scholars Program which includes recruitment and administration.
  • Coordinates and supports the full lateral recruiting process for the DC office.
  • Coordinates call-back interview process, greets and escorts candidates, gathers and tracks information, conducts follow-up contact and correspondence.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the Summer Associate Program including pre-summer events, assignments, orientation, events, and general administration.
  • Supports Hiring Committee and Summer Assignments Committee by preparing for meetings and compiling data.
  • Coordinates management of event vendor contracts: makes revisions per Firm policies and preferences; negotiates rates; and coordinates approval between the Firm's General Counsel and vendors.
  • Interfaces regularly with law school placement offices, legal recruiting professionals, and internal firm attorneys and leadership
  • Acts as a point of contact for attorneys, summer associates and applicants.
  • Processes local law school sponsorships as necessary.
  • Answers phones, prepares check requests, processes department expenses, maintains spreadsheets, copies, files, scans, and completes special projects as assigned.
  • Coordinates and supports overall department needs with special projects.
  • Serves as a resource for attorneys in the DC office.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manages Firm resources responsibly.
  • Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of attorney recruiting field and procedures
  • Knowledge of alternative sourcing methods
  • Ability to network within the legal community
  • Ability to think creatively and proactively about recruiting
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel) with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible related experience; or, a combination of two years related experience in a law firm along with a minimum of two years administrative experience.

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

$90,000 - $105,000
