Hiring Company: STS Technical Services STS Technical Services is actively hiring a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor to lead and improve maintenance operations for a major manufacturing client in Southwest Wyoming, Michigan. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on equipment reliability, personnel development, and driving measurable results across safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, implement, and sustain long-term maintenance improvement plans
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams to reduce downtime and increase efficiency
- Oversee construction and maintenance projects, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and execute immediate and long-term solutions
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and housekeeping standards
- Train, develop, and evaluate maintenance staff
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to solve equipment and facility issues
- Maintain compliance with local and national labor agreements
- Execute preventive and planned maintenance programs
- Support the achievement of plant SPQRC goals (Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost)
- Ensure budget, manpower, and project timelines are maintained
Skills & Experience:
- Must be open to working any assigned shift, including daily, weekend, and holiday overtime
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts
- Experience in machine assembly, tooling, and facility systems
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and practices
- Skilled in clerical tasks, data analysis, and maintenance reporting
- Experience supervising a multi-trade maintenance team
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Lotus Notes or similar email systems
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Competency in behavior-based assessments, including adaptability, initiative, decision-making, and results orientation
Education & Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred
- Equivalent technical training or skilled trades certification accepted
- Minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
