Malware Reverse Engineer / Offensive Tool Developer

Position Summary

DarkStar Intelligence is seeking a Malware Reverse Engineer with low-level development expertise to support advanced Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) efforts. The ideal candidate brings a rare combination of reverse engineering tradecraft and kernel-level programming experience, enabling them to analyze malware in depth, replicate adversary techniques, and build bespoke tools that operate at or below the operating system kernel.

This role requires a professional who can move seamlessly between analysis and development - tearing apart malicious code, writing custom proof-of-concepts or drivers, and briefing findings with clarity. Candidates should be comfortable bridging offensive and defensive mindsets to strengthen mission outcomes.

  • Collaborate with vulnerability researchers, red teams, and system defenders to translate technical findings into operational guidance.
  • Provide clear written reports and oral briefings to both technical peers and mission leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with malware reverse engineering and binary analysis.

  • Prior experience developing offensive security tools, rootkits, or implants.
