Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager oversees the manufacturing and programming teams, ensuring successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives while maintaining margin adherence. This role is responsible for cost estimation, manufacturing process development, CNC programming, and continuous improvement to optimize production efficiency and product quality.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Engineering Management
- Evaluate customer quotes to identify strategic business opportunities.
- Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical data to produce accurate and timely cost estimates.
- Collaborate with Launch Team Managers to develop optimized manufacturing processes and CNC programs.
- Maintain an estimated programming spreadsheet to assess capacity load and resource allocation.
- Assist in fixture design development to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for process-related concerns.
- Partner with operations and quality teams to ensure seamless new product transitions into production.
- Support quality inspectors by providing guidance on customer specifications and requirements.
- Analyze failure trends, implement corrective and preventive actions, and respond to customer complaints effectively.
- Maintain customer-specific documentation and actively participate in customer visits and audits.
- Track variances between estimated and actual costs, evaluating the accuracy of cost estimation parameters.
- Present strategic process improvements to senior management, focusing on efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Make recommendations for manufacturing process enhancements to optimize quality and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze, prioritize, and execute solutions strategically.
- Highly organized, with exceptional time management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the machining industry, including an understanding of customer-specific process specifications (ASTM, SAE, ISO, MIL-Standards).
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the machining industry.
- At least five years of experience in a management role.
- Completion of a two-year college or technical school program required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
