DESCRIPTION

Enrollment Management (EM) is a multi-unit department within the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs. The department is led by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (AVC EM), who serves as the Chief Enrollment Officer and Chief Outreach Officer of the University. EM comprises multiple high-profile, core functional units including: the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid & Scholarships Office, Cal-SOAP, Creative Services, Enrollment Analytics, and the Business Office. We work to advance the academic and public service missions of UC San Diego by ensuring equitable access to education and empowering students throughout their educational journeys.

The Office of the Registrar supports the instructional missions of the University by providing core enrollment service to students, faculty, colleges, academic departments, professional schools and summer session in the areas of academic records, class scheduling, registration, and degree audits.

Reporting to the Associate Registrar of Degree Audit and Academic Records, performs a variety of analytical duties in support of the Degree Audit, uAchieve, including encoding university and degree requirements, as well as general education requirements and transfer articulation tables. Provide day to day upkeep and documentation on degree program changes. Work with faculty and staff from all campus offices to ensure accuracy of data requirements and content by fully analyzing issues and problems, requesting information, and gathering data. Uses this data for the development and enhancement of the degree audit, including determining alternatives and making sound recommendations in the resolution of degree audit system problems and issues. Using subject matter knowledge, collects and prepares information for use in discussions and training for the UC San Diego community.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Previous Experience working with Degree Audit systems, such as uAchieve or similar degree audit program. Working knowledge of university graduation procedures and practices.

  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with a varied population, including all levels of staff.

  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large amounts of information (from written and verbal sources), formulate potential solutions, and resolve conflicts.

  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

  • Demonstrated command of logic skills (as acquired through college level coursework in logic or equivalent combination of coursework and/or acquired job skills, policies and procedures) to understand the uAchieve condition code process as it relates to the correct selection and accurate and efficient manipulation of exceptions.

  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs including mainframe and Windows OS computing environment, with intermidiate level skill working with the Microsoft Office Suite applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint - with the ability to interact with, organize, and maintain computerized records.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Willingness and ability to embrace and follow the UC San Diego Principles of Community.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player, participating in group discussion regarding procedures and goals of the uAchieve team and ITS programmer support team.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Duties may require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18). Completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) form is required.

  • Job offer is contingent upon a satisfactory clearance based on background check results.

  • Occasional overtime and weekends may be required.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $60,300 - $103,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.88 - $49.76

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
