POSITION SUMMARY

Adhere to corporate Finance and Accounting policies. Maintains the organization's accounting procedures for the maintenance of fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports. Manages general ledger and property accounting, cost accounting, and budgetary control. In coordination with Chief Executive Officer, appraises operating results in terms of costs, budgets, operating policies, trends, and increased profit opportunities. Also responsible for report preparation, SOX certification and reconciliations.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and review monthly financials to assure accurate and timely financial information is provided to management and the Board of Directors to effectively manage the operations and be accountable to customers and regulatory agencies. Uploads Boardbooks as needed. Conducts month end closing, monthly entries and calculations, regularly scheduled reporting.
  • Review the status of cash account reconciliations weekly; balance sheet reconciliations monthly and direct research/corrections necessary. Responsible for all accrual entries (except tax and general valuation allowances), valuations of servicing rights and goodwill and the establishment of reserves as needed.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports and assist in preparations and response to questions tied to audits and exams to support the efficient operations of the company.
  • Assist Chief Banking Officer with the calculation of quarterly and annual incentive compensation plans for lenders.
  • Supervise and train direct reports. Manage department staffing including hiring, directing assignments, monitoring performance, coaching, counseling, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organization mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion and termination as appropriate.
  • Prepare annual budget reports with input from department leads.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

About You

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • 2-5 years of similar or related experience
  • College degree in accounting or finance preferred

Knowledge, Skill, Ability (Other Skills):

  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/ or highly confidential nature.
  • Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Working conditions:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.

Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
