St. Ann's Community is are currently looking for a full time boiler room mechanic for the St. Ann's Home located on the Portland campus. The purpose of this job is to perform regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of Power Plant & Utilities equipment for St. Ann's Community. Provides technical support to the other Power Plant & Maintenance mechanics and other departments such as Dietary, Laundry & Grounds.

Job Description:
- Checks with shift Stationary Engineer or Power Plant & Maintenance Manager for daily assignments.
- Works with Stationary Engineers, Electricians, or other staff as assigned to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Makes preventive maintenance inspections and performs preventive maintenance tasks.
- Works with Stationary Engineers, Electricians, and Power Plant & Maintenance Manager to achieve the accomplishment of goals and expectations set by the Power Plant & Maintenance Manager.
- Regularly reports progress on projects and condition of equipment to the Power Plant & Maintenance Manager.
- Assists in updating preventive maintenance procedures to ensure periodic equipment maintenance requirements are met.
- Ensures that all supporting paperwork for each task performed is complete and accurate. Documentation should reflect the time spent (starting time, completion time, and actual hours), date completed, parts used, comments explaining procedure used to complete the task, and any other pertinent information.
- Maintains, operates, and repairs sewage lift station equipment and components to ensure uninterrupted, reliable, proper, and efficient operation of said equipment.
- Troubleshoots and makes repairs on equipment including but not limited to:
- Motors.
- Pumps.
- Valves.
- Control systems and components.
- Air-conditioning units, chillers, refrigeration equipment, and cooling towers as necessary.
- Maintains Power Plant equipment to ensure proper working order as determined through diligent preventive maintenance procedures.
- Performs all other tasks, assignments, and duties as requested, assigned, or required by shift Stationary Engineer, Electricians, or Power Plant & Maintenance Manager.
- Troubleshoots and makes repairs on Laundry and Dietary equipment not limited to:
- Light electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Belt replacements and adjustments
- Filter changes and equipment maintenance
- Steam equipment repairs and maintenance
Candidate Requirements:
- EPA Section 608 Universal certification
- Knowledge of general HVAC maintenance/mechanical/building systems
