- Assumes overall responsibility for administrative and clinical operations clinical operations, clinical practice, protocols and pathways, clinical triage, patient education content/process, performance and quality improvements, etc. for the practice.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develops department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, providing oversight and management for daily operations and medical office and ensures patient access to care. Ensures compliance with business unit policies and procedures and governmental and accreditation regulations.Provides input to Director to develop an operating budget and works to operate within that budget.Supervises all non-provider staff within the office. Selects, trains, orients, and assigns department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and conducts performance management planning. Initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions. Maintains ongoing communication with subordinates to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information.Acts as patient advocate and addresses concerns to attain maximum patient satisfaction.Assesses the education needs of patients related to their condition. Develops and/or implements a health education plan for each patient/ family unit and for groups of patients.Assumes overall responsibility for administrative and clinical operations, clinical practice, protocols, office workflows to provide consistent, safe, quality, patient-centered care.Supervises all non-provider staff within the office. Ensures staff is properly trained and in collaboration with the provider(s), identifies the need for additional skills training for all associates. Additionally, ensures all medical office staff is trained in emergency procedures. Adheres to the MedStar performance management cycle to evaluate and actively manage associate performance. Actively encourages associate growth and development. Responsible for maintaining positive, productive, and professional relationships within the practice, as well as between the providers and the health care system. Prepares the medical office for the addition and departure of providers; ensures smooth operational transitions. Assists with growth and development of the practice and MMG by marketing to the public and other providers. Coordinates and leads meetings with the providers and staff on a regular basis to keep team informed of MHS and MMG goals, practice goals and policy changes.Ensures patient satisfaction with the medical group's performance on all levels. Responds timely to patient concerns and requests for information. Engages in service recovery activities as appropriate. Routinely reviews CGCAHPS data and develops action plans to address areas for improvement.Coordinates the schedule for new providers and modifies existing provider schedules as appropriate. Monitors provider scheduling practices and staffing levels to ensure patient needs and financial goals are met. Monitors provider schedules on a daily basis to maximize appointment availability and ensure same-day access is available.Collaborates as part of the primary medical care team to formulate and document ambulatory care plans for patients and families. As needed, completes nursing assessments and conducts ongoing assessments of patients and families. Evaluates patient progress, conveys information to the physician, and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions.Processes telephone inquiries, performs telephone triage, and documents patient phone calls.Provides direct patient care, as needed, including, but not limited to escorting patients to examination room, taking vitals, taking EKG's, phlebotomy, giving injections, and assisting physicians with procedures as necessary. Ensures the physical well-being of patients. Records services and diagnosis on patient's encounter form to facilitate appropriate billing.Responsible for office financial performance, including revenue cycle activities and monthly statistical reporting. Partners with Director of Operations, physician leadership and Finance to prepare annual budget; ensures practice is meeting monthly budget targets and works with Facility Medical Director and Director of Operations to course correct as necessary.Maintains and coordinates all staff schedules to accommodate patient flow. Responsible for providing backup to key positions during peak times and staff absences. Based on skills, this may include direct patient care services. Performs weekly payroll activities for assigned staff. Actively engages in recruiting, hiring, orienting, promoting, reviewing and terminating staff according to organizational policies. Maintains up-to-date staff files of required certifications and licenses. Fosters staff engagement and productivity.Sets, tracks, and reports goals, targets, and outcome/performance measures to monitor/ evaluate the work in the area of Content Expertise. Researches, analyzes, and uses data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.Performs other duties as assigned. May serve as the primary backup for the duties and responsibilities of other positions at the site.
Minimum Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred or
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration preferred
Experience
- 1-2 years 2 years clinical management experience preferred with focus on physician practice management; experience with supervision of both clinical and non-clinical staff; experience managing clinical operations required
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure RN license required in area of practice required and
- RNC-OB C- Electronic Fetal Mon License required for those working in OB/GYN: Perinatal nurses (labor and delivery, antepartum, antenatal testing) must obtain certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) within 12 months from date of hire. New graduate nurses or new to specialty nurses (labor and delivery, antepartum, antenatal testing) will have 15 months from date of hire to obtain the EFM certification. required
