Job Summary:

This position manages the daily operations of the Engineering Services Department. In conjunction with Leadership, the Building and Maintenance Supervisor will assist in maintaining the highest degree of operational performance and customer satisfaction in Engineering Services.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assumes the responsibility of supervising and assigning the daily activities of Associates within Engineering Services.
  • Manages and oversees the Preventative Maintenance Program, in accordance with Joint Commission Regulations, which includes monitoring the timely and efficient return of work order requests and daily time sheets.
  • Monitors periodic reports and analyses regarding progress or adverse trends.
  • Administers appropriate action plan, as needed.
  • Assists in the development and preparation of the departmental budget.
  • Monitors and budgets the purchasing of plant and maintenance supplies.
  • Assists in the development and delivery of performance appraisals.
  • Assists in the management of various personnel functions including schedules, overtime and special project needs.
  • Oversees orientation and training of new Associates, to include safety in-service in accordance with OSHA Safety Standards.
  • Contributes to the development, review, and revision of standards, procedures, protocols and CBOT's.
  • Participates in Joint Commission preparation/readiness. Serves as a quality assurance/liaison for all departments within the facility regarding service function, quality, and performance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent, required.
  • Associates degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of three years applicable work experience in a hospital setting.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Possesses interpersonal skills necessary to maintain a wide variety of internal and external cooperative working relations with physicians, staff, and Associates.
  • Demonstrates the ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective and strong leadership.
