Summary/ Objective:

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing Schaedler Yesco Distribution's overall technology strategy, infrastructure, and digital initiatives. The role ensures that the IT system and staff support the organization's infrastructure and application needs and maintain robust cybersecurity standards while ensuring that the company efficiently and cost-effectively utilizes technology and information systems to support our associates, customers, and suppliers. The infrastructure element focuses on internal systems core to the business's operations, such as ERP, telecommunications, network and warehouse operations, and application needs related to other digital initiatives that support suppliers, associates, and customers.

This role requires a strategic leader, intellectual curiosity, technical expertise, and strong business acumen.

Essential Functions:



  • Technology Strategy and Digital Transformation:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with our company's goals and objectives.
    • Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and elevate the customer experience.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends to keep SYD at the forefront of digitalization opportunities appropriate for wholesale distribution.


  • ERP System Management:

    • Oversee the implementation, customization, and maintenance of our ERP system.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the ERP system meets the diverse needs of various departments.
    • Continuously optimize the ERP system to streamline business processes and ensure data integrity.


  • Company Network

    • Provide leadership to ensure the company's technology, inclusive of hardware and software network, resources, and personnel, are optimized, efficient, and managed appropriately to support all associates and the company's objectives most cost-effectively.


  • eCommerce and Digital Platforms:

    • Lead the development and management of our eCommerce platforms (data systems / PIM, eCommerce tools) to enable customers to interact with SYD as they desire.
    • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to identify and implement digital initiatives that drive business growth.


  • Business Services

    • Involvement with SYD associates with the selection of digital / application business tools that they need, such as Telephony, CRM, BI, and other tools. Support internal teams through building business cases, supplier research / due diligence, integration with other internal systems, and other support as needed.
    • Supply Chain Software Management:

      • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of supply chain software solutions to facilitate interaction with SYD suppliers.
      • Interact with SYD Logistics / Supply Chain / Warehouse Operations to provide technological support and systems to optimize warehouse operations with a focus on productivity, inventory accuracy, material management, and material delivery the effective utilization of technology, information management and analytics.




  • Cybersecurity and Data Privacy:

    • Develop and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy to safeguard our sensitive information, inclusive of appropriate back-up and redundancy systems to ensure business continuity.
    • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry best practices.
    • Educate employees on cybersecurity awareness and establish incident response protocols.


  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:

    • Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their technology needs and provide guidance.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring service level agreements are met.




Competencies:



  • Strong understanding of electrical, or wholesale, distribution industry practices and business processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP systems (preference for Eclipse), eCommerce strategies, and supply chain software.
  • Proficient in cybersecurity best practices, risk management, and data privacy regulations.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong customer focus coupled with good project management skills.
  • Intellectually curious about technology applications and asking, "what if."


Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position is a supervisory role, and the following roles report directly to the Director of IT

    • Infrastructure Systems Manager
    • Business Applications Manager
    • ERP Manager




Work Environment:

This job operates as a hybrid position split between a home office and an office setting with the balance of the time split between visiting various branches/warehouses and attending meetings. This position requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, internet, smart phones, and photocopiers.

Travel:

Some overnight travel is required and the employee can reasonably expect on average 10% overnight travel to meet the demands of the position. Should travel be required a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for this position.

Clearances and Certifications:



  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, required. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10 years of proven experience in a management role, preferred.
