Position Summary
A position is available for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the lab of Dr. Robert Nicholas to support its cutting-edge research on antibiotic resistance and immune suppression in Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The ideal candidate will have extensive research experience in molecular pathogenesis, protein biochemistry, antibiotic resistance, and immune responses to infection, particularly in Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Proficiency in various molecular biology techniques, including PCR, Western blotting, and ELISA, as well as a strong background in protein biochemistry, genomics, and phenotypic diversity analysis is essential. Experience in experimental design and a proven track record in scientific publishing will be highly valued. This position involves managing research data, contributing to publications and presentations, and conducting various research assays.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry).
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Proficient in bioinformatics tools and software.
Proven experience in grant writing and securing research funding.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Extensive experience in molecular pathogenesis, particularly with Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
Expertise in antibiotic resistance research, specifically Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
Proficient in a wide range of molecular biology techniques, including PCR, Western blotting, and ELISA.
Strong background in genomic and phenotypic diversity analysis.
Experience in protein expression and purification.
Proven track record in scientific publishing.
