Responsibilities

The Cash Management Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting the cash needs of the Bank through cash ordering, shipping, vendor and banking collaboration, issue resolution and managing the cash vendor relationships. In addition, this position requires strong analytical skills to be able to develop an overall cash budget, manage the cash process, and resolve reconciliation balancing outages. This position will also have departmental duties that are critical to the day-to-day operations of the team, including producing and monitoring various reports. The Cash Management Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring the cash transportation vendor vault audits are performed within the schedule set by our third-party audit vendor. The Cash Management Specialist will also serve as support to the Banking Center Analysts.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $51,700 - $101,500 per year. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications and the career level at which the position is filled.

Key Accountabilities

Execution:

    Primary contact and subject matter expert for cash ordering, shipping, setup, and issue resolution with the Federal Reserve
  • Provide analytics, monitoring and reporting of branch cash volumes using cash management tools
  • Analyze cash budgets for banking centers based on transaction volume and trends
  • Balance all cash vaults within the organization, assuring they are accurately reconciled
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors (i.e. Federal Reserve, armored carriers, cash management solutions and internal teams) for business process improvement opportunities
  • Identify any client and/or colleague impact with introducing new or revised policies or procedures
  • Conduct a review and process invoices from vendors to ensure accuracy and manage the error resolution process, when necessary, while tracking and identifying errors for SLA reports
  • Collaborate with Treasury Management to onboard commercial clients with vault services including the following:
  • Federal Reserve orders and shipments
  • Daily inventory monitoring
  • Standing order modifications
  • Research/ticket submission on inventory discrepancies
  • Inventory adjustments
  • Customer on-lines (order debit process)
  • Profile modifications/closures
  • Invoice submission
  • Vault audits
  • Review client orders that are outside of range for anomalies
  • Coordinate cash ordering/shipping with project teams and vendors for branch remodels, closings, and openings
  • Oversee projects through the execution of project plans, communication plans and other necessary deliverables
  • Review and update department procedures, while also creating new procedures as needed
  • Serve as a point of contact for banking center team members and other business partners with respect to cash and account reconciliation
  • Audit to adherence of the forecast and work with the banking centers directly on any differences.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities, make recommendations, and develop new workflows and processes to standardize and improve procedures and processes to enhance and streamline the team member and client engagement
  • Work cross-functionally as required to drive initiatives and improve processes
  • Utilize information and data to identify training needs within the Bank to support the banking center network
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing department policies and procedures, and initiate enhancements as identified

Vendor Relationships:

  • Collaborate with third party vendors to ensure a consistent and optimal service level
  • Maintain vendor relationships to bridge gaps and leverage differing perspectives to ensure positive team member and client experiences
  • Ensure cash transportation vendor vault audits are performed within the set schedule by our third-party audit vendor

Partner:

  • Partner with other areas of the Bank effectively. Collaborates with others through effective communication and acceptance of diverse ideas and perspectives.

Adapts well to changes in assignments and priorities, while maintaining focus and staying current with day-to-day processes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3 years' banking experience in back-office operations, or related work experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Candidate must possess strong analytical skills with a general understanding of accounting, cash, and financing
  • Ability to work with little-to-average supervision and follow a strategic plan
  • Prior experience with cash operations & cash forecasting tools preferred
  • Advanced skills in banking applications and Microsoft Office 365 suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, with an emphasis on functions/formulas for Excel
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to present recommendations verbally and in writing
  • Strong knowledge of teller, banker, and cash logistics preferred
  • Must have thorough understanding of banking center processes, procedures, and systems, as well as an understanding of operational activities of the Bank

  • Development of strong relationships and analytical work throughout the organization to ensure the Bank is benefiting from a procedural, compliance, and cost-effective perspective
  • Ability to reach consensus from various business partners to make decision on change control
  • Continuous development of internal procedures and applied learning to benefit the company
