Responsibilities The Office Coordinator assists with daily clinic patient care (i.e. patient flow, checking-in, checking-out, answering multi-line phones, scheduling appointments, medical records, maintenance of medical supplies, etc.) Other duties include: Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Screen visitors/vendors and direct to appropriate personnel. Check-in patients, copy front and back of insurance card(s) and verify and update necessary demographic information. Verify billing information and existing balances. Answer multi-line telephone system and properly and efficiently screen calls. Route calls to appropriate personnel. Schedule patient appointments for physician office visits/diagnostic testing on computer system, following office scheduling policies and procedures. Copy any necessary medical records with proper authorization; scan records into computer system. Utilize computer applications and stay current with systems updates. Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment. Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests and/or admission. Check patients out after clinic appointments, collect co-pays and/or patient balances and record receipts for services. Collect information regarding any referral/authorization needed for upcoming appointments and notify appropriate personnel. Distribute forms to schedulers for confirmation of appointments. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of one(1) year work experience in the medical front office setting; One (1)year experience with multi-phone system; Knowledge of medical terminology desirable; Computer experience - Cerner Software Every team member at OHH plays an integral role in our patients' experience.
