What You'll Do
|
Summary/Objective: A Senior System Engineer serves as a technical lead on critical Credit Union projects, working with key stakeholders to architect and implement solutions using best of breed technologies aligned to business needs. Senior engineers must be high performing subject matter experts in multiple areas to ensure systems are built to suit business requirements and perform as designed. Senior engineers are expected to keep abreast of current and future technology trends, lead proof of concepts, investigate opportunities for improvement, and automate technical solutions where possible. - Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain Credit Union's critical infrastructure which supports members and employees
- Serve as technical lead on top priority business-wide and internal IS projects, working with project managers, business leaders, key stakeholders, and other IS members to develop solutions that meet project goals
- Architect Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure across multiple sites, maintaining high performance and resiliency
- Maintain multi-site vSphere environment, architecting and deploying new configurations to physical or virtual infrastructure when necessary
- Architect hybrid system solutions that utilize Credit Union's on premises infrastructure as well as public cloud capabilities
- Be a key stakeholder in design decisions affecting infrastructure and services related to virtual desktop environments hosted on public cloud
- Focus on efficiency through automation, process refinement, and elimination of technical debt, identify opportunities when they arise, and develop implementation plans to see efforts through
- Interact with vendors to identify software problems, see incidents through to resolution, communicate status to internal customers
- Design, build, and maintain disaster recovery systems to meet defined RPO, RTO, and uptime requirements for on-prem, hybrid, and cloud based systems
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or requested.
- Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements

What You'll Need
|
- 5-10+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role
- Expert in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, IIS, VMware vSphere, and systems architecture
- Advanced knowledge of public cloud environments, preferably AWS or Azure
- Advanced understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, and firewalls
- Advanced scripting and automation skills using PowerShell or similar languages
- Experience with DevOps tools and processes and the ability to deploy infrastructure using code
- Experience administering Linux servers
- Experience using Atlassian Jira and Confluence a plus
- Experience with agile project methodologies
- Bachelors degree in an IS related field a strong plus
