Overview

ViaPath is seeking a Circuit Ordering and Provisioning Specialist to join our team. The responsibility of this position will be to work with all departments of ViaPath to provide effective Provisioning services to ViaPath customers.

While in this critical position, you will have the opportunity to utilize your experience working within multiple databases and vendor managed access portals for ordering and maintaining ViaPath inventory base. The ideal candidate will have a background in telecommunications, a good knowledge of Telecom Provisioning, PSTN, VoIP, IP Networks, Internet access delivery mediums and a basic understanding of the functions of a Session Border Controller (SBC).

This position is a remote based opportunity and can be based anywhere in the US with a preference to be based in the Central Region for easier support to all time zones.



Responsibilities

    Telecom Provisioning SME, working in a customer focused environment providing project and operational support to deliver a multitude of telecoms solutions. Responsibilities include the ordering and provisioning of circuits, local phone service, DIDs as well as the analysis and verification of telecom inventory and charges.
  • Manage and process all New, Move, and Change orders for all telecommunications services.
  • Manage and maintain circuit inventory.
  • Responsible for the database of toll free numbers, acquire toll free numbers as required from appropriate provider, direct the Voice Engineering Team on how the routing of toll free numbers is to function.
  • Responsible for the database of VoIP numbers, acquire VoIP DID numbers as required from appropriate provider, direct the Voice Engineering Team on how the routing of VoIP DID numbers is to function as well as the database of VoIP numbers for the ViaPath PBX, acquire VoIP DID numbers as required from appropriate provider for ViaPath Internal use.
  • Manage and maintain the provisioning of circuits for data services, including Moves, Adds, Changes and Disconnects.
  • Follow internal process and procedures to place orders for Ethernet, DS1, DS3, cable and wireless internet solutions.
  • Ensure accuracy of all order information, on-time installation, disconnections, or upgrades of services to meet client requested due dates.
  • Track and resolve issues by working with internal management and vendors.
  • Obtain and provide weekly status report to internal management and clients.
  • Build spreadsheets to identify and report discrepancies to management.
  • Perform invoice research and analysis.
  • Maintain relationships between ViaPath and all Telecommunication vendors.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivilent required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of network transport, carrier terminology, billing systems, and telecom expense management principles.
  • Experience with telecom carriers including negotiating rates, service level agreements, and performance reporting.
  • Strong background in Telecom Provisioning and Support.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to multi-task and provide support across a multitude of customer facing teams.
  • Must be a collaborative team player who can work across functional groups, meeting competing deadlines.
  • General knowledge of switching technologies, routing and IP protocol.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Excel skills.
