Duties, Responsibilities & Other

    This person will report to the Resident Engineer for NCDOT.
  • Responsibilities will also included various administrative duties to assist construction engineering staff with project creation, reporting, scheduling daily inspections with vendors, and quality control.
  • Ability to work closely with inspection reports on the status of current projects and proofing/editing of those documents and meeting deadlines.
  • Candidate should possess a working knowledge of the Projectwise with proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize database, spreadsheet, as well as the ability to do targeted online research and summarization will be necessary for success.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Office dress is business casual. Must have reliable transportation


Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.


Performance Expectations

  • Complete Annual Individual Training Program
  • Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
  • Attend monthly town hall meetings
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Comply with ISO requirements
  • Coordinate administrative work
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned
  • Represent KCI in a positive and open manner and serve as a gatekeeper for your direct supervisor
  • Enter percent completes
  • Answer telephones with KCI greeting for assigned projects and handle routine requests
  • Assist project analyst(s) with document control
  • Assist project staff with scheduling and reporting
  • Assist project staff with time entry, expense reports, and mileage
  • Assist with calendar and scheduling meetings as required
  • Assist with marketing and client contact efforts as required
  • Assist with printing and photocopy requirements
  • Assist with proposal preparation
  • Book travel per company policy
  • Coordinate and order office supplies
  • Draft correspondence
  • File and organize project documents and records and keep them accessible
  • Implement office administrator duties by the office manager as required
  • Keep files accessible and organized
  • Maintain and update current project technical specifications software as required
  • Perform spreadsheet data entry as requested
  • Work with office manager to implement office employee activities as required
