Job Description

Are you a passionate academic leader who believes that extraordinary care for nursing students leads to extraordinary care for patients and families? We're seeking anAssociate Dean of Academic Affairsto lead our campus faculty, ensure curriculum excellence, and foster a collaborative, student-centered environment. If you model care, respect, and professionalism and thrive in a culture of cooperation, this role may be the perfect fit.

What You'll Do:

Faculty Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and evaluate qualified faculty and staff.
  • Mentor faculty and staff in academic excellence, customer service, communication, and professionalism.
  • Ensure faculty accountability to teaching and learning best practices through regular feedback.
  • Assign faculty and academic team workloads.
  • Facilitate regular faculty and academic team meetings to support curriculum planning and evaluation.

Curriculum & Instructional Excellence

  • Ensure learning experiences align with the BSN curriculum and collaborate with national teams for implementation.
  • Support faculty in adapting to evolving student needs and delivering course/program outcomes.
  • Monitor course resources and assessment data each session; recommend improvements to student success plans.
  • Ensure faculty participation in national course advisory councils and curriculum delivery decisions.

Student Success & Outcomes

  • Develop and implement plans to improve student retention, graduation rates, and NCLEX pass rates.
  • Collaborate with local and national partners to enhance student satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze academic success data to inform curriculum delivery and student interventions.
  • Support consistent execution of core CAS programs and develop local programming as needed.

Operational & Strategic Collaboration

  • Collaborate with national academic committees to implement goals and projects.
  • Solicit academic budget recommendations and prepare capital requests for learning areas.
  • Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure appropriate student placements.
  • Partner with national library staff to manage local holdings.

Teaching & Other Duties

  • Teach up to three courses per year.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education & Licensure:

    • Master's degree in nursing required; doctorate in nursing or progress toward a doctorate preferred.
    • Must hold an unencumbered professional nursing license.
  • Experience & Expertise:

    • Minimum two years of experience teaching nursing at the bachelor's level or higher.
    • Background in developing or participating in simulation and clinical experiences.
    • Three to five years in acute care, trauma, emergency, or medical-surgical environments is a plus.
    • Previous leadership experience with the ability to guide, support, and advise faculty.
  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • A customer service mindset with the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty, and staff at all levels.
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $70,696.34 and $127,957.05. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
