The college is governed by the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and a seven-member Board of Visitors and derives its support largely from student tuition and fees and legislative appropriations. Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:This position is a faculty member in the EMS program following the guidelines established by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Sciences profession (CoAEMSP) and Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and as delegated by the EMS Program Director. The position has responsibilities for the day-to-day oversight all clinical aspects of the program. A faculty member with this assignment may also be tasked with teaching program didactic curriculum as required.ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES: *Coordinate all clinical activities of the EMS program in collaboration with the Program Director. *Teach clinical education courses throughout the academic year, including summer semesters. *Demonstrate proficiency in clinical instruction, evaluation, and student supervision. *Coordinate clinical education with didactic instruction to ensure integrated learning. *Maintain student clinical competencies and provide direct/indirect clinical supervision. *Develop clinical schedules, syllabi, and orientation materials. *Collect, maintain, and report all required clinical documentation, including: oImmunizations, background checks, drug screens, federal exclusion checks. oBLS, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS certification records. oHIPAA and Standard Precautions compliance training. *Participate in EMS-related recruitment events and community outreach. *Ensure compliance with all CoAEMSP and CAAHEP accreditation standards. *Maintain confidential student records in accordance with FERPA. *Maintain personal clinical and educational competencies in areas of instruction. *Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director or college leadership. EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE: *Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). *Learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard). *Classroom and clinical technologies (e.g., Smartboards, simulators). *Office equipment such as phones, copiers, and fax machines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The conditions herein are representative of common tasks that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Environment: *Standard classroom, lab, clinical and field settings with frequent interruptions. *May include evening and weekend duties. *Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during clinical site visits and classroom instruction. *Frequent movement between campus locations, simulation labs, and clinical settings. Physical: *Use of hands and fingers to operate instructional equipment, computers, and medical simulation tools. *Perform fine motor tasks associated with demonstrating clinical procedures and handling medical equipment. *Sufficient vision to read student work, computer screens, and detailed medical documents. *Ability to observe student performance in clinical and laboratory settings. *Clear verbal communication for instruction and supervision in noisy clinical or lab environments. *Ability to hear and respond to student questions and clinical environment sounds (e.g., monitors, alarms). *Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds (e.g., training equipment, supplies, or documents). *Occasional heavier lifting may be required during clinical simulations or events. *Ability to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, or bend as necessary to set up simulation labs or assist students. *Extended periods of computer use for documentation, scheduling, and curriculum development *Ability to work in a variety of settings including classrooms, labs, offices, and healthcare environments with exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals (in simulation), and clinical odors. *Capacity to adapt to frequently changing schedules and demands typical in both academic and healthcare settings. *Communicate effectively through verbal and written channels. POSITIONS SUPERVISED: *Students in classroom, clinical, internships, observations, field experiences, or other similar settings as appropriate for the course or program. Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: (A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
