Work Shift:

12hr - Shift D 7p-7:30a Atlanta (United States of America) Altium Packaging is one of the largest plastic container companies and suppliers of rigid plastic packaging. We specialize in customized mid- and short-run packaging solutions and serve a diverse customer base in the pharmaceutical, dairy, household chemicals, food/nutraceuticals, industrial/specialty chemicals, water, and beverage/juice segments.

We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technicianin Atlanta. As a Maintenance Tech, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, performing repairs, installations and maintenance on plant equipment, production machinery, blow mold equipment and facility.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain blow mold/injection mold machines, baggers & other related equipment in optimal processing condition

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems, electrical power supply and control circuits

  • Install, adjust and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer and other related equipment

  • Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin and other equipment changes

  • Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses

  • Inspect, rebuild and replace valves and pumps

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment

  • Program and troubleshoot PLC systems

  • Perform welding & fabrication as needed

  • Solicit information and feedback from other departments toward repair and the efficient operation of machines

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Solid experience with blow mold machines (operation & maintenance)

  • 2+ years' machine maintenance experience, specifically in the manufacturing industry

  • 2+ years' experience as a machine operator

  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills are required

  • Basic math and computer skills

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals

  • Ability to work overtime

  • Physical stamina and strength/able to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be able to train on 1st shift, if needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
