The Opportunity

We are looking for an IT Manager to join our growing team. In this position, you will work in Singlewire's Madison office and be responsible for Singlewire's IT infrastructure, systems, core business applications and operations. This role is essential for ensuring all technology platforms function smoothly and maintaining security and compliance.

The job responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the entire IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud systems, and applications.
  • Ensure system availability, performance, and scalability to support a growing user base and business operations.
  • Develop and manage Annual IT budget, working closely with Operations and Finance leadership.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive software strategy collaborating closely with business stakeholders, aligned to the goals of the business, including vendor selection, license providing and user on/off boarding.
  • Establish and maintain a system of record for all applications and related data, ensuring accurate tracking of subscriptions, usage, costs, and compliance.
  • Optimize license agreements and proactively plan for renewals, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and enhance value.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-range technology strategy roadmaps, working with business and technical stakeholders to understand and meet business and budget needs. including
  • Lead efforts to evaluate and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions within the business to drive efficiency, cost savings and create new capabilities.
  • Design and test effective data backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Report on key metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure system capacity, health and availability.
  • Lead and manage significant IT infrastructure and application projects, including working with outside consultants on significant projects.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to enhance team skills, provide career development and ensure effective IT operations. Collaborate with internal teams on shared goals and projects.
  • Enforce and contribute to Singlewire policies and procedures, including access control, acceptable use, change management, incident response and data retention.
  • Develop and maintain operations procedures.


You May Be Right for Us If You Have:

  • 10+ years' IT experience, with at least 5+ years in a sophisticated server/storage environment.
  • A desire to learn new technologies and collaborate with teammates to create solutions to new technology challenges.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring a team of IT professionals.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, including forecasting, cost control, and procurement of IT assets and services.
  • Experience in vendor management and negotiation to secure favorable contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Experience with help-desk management and IT support best practices to ensure high levels of user satisfaction.
  • Undergraduate or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Expertise in server administration, virtualization (e.g., VMware, Cisco UCS)
  • Expertise in administering user application cloud platforms (e.g., Google and O365).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, including access control, incident response, and data loss prevention.
  • Proficiency in administering and maintaining enterprise-level software applications and databases.
  • General knowledge of storage technologies such as iSCSI, NAS, RAID, ACLs, snapshots and back-up concepts.
  • Experience managing a collocated data center is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL governance platform. Experience operating in a SOC 2 type 2 environment or stronger a plus.
  • Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to multitask in a high paced environment.
