Job Title: Financial Analyst

Division: Finance

Reports To: Finance Manager - Premium Billing & Collections

Key Relationships: Finance Manager, other Finance staff, Underwriting staff, external Clients and Suppliers

Job Summary: To provide accounting and financial operations with strong analytical and technical skills to ensure the integrity of financial information primarily pertaining to premiums, accounts receivable and state specific data calls.

FLSA: Exempt

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete analysis of accuracy of premium transactions as compared to underlying policy documents; follow-up with underwriting staff as appropriate
  • Processing of premium receivables transactions for US business units via use of various platforms or spreadsheets as necessary. Includes updating transactions in the data repository where applicable and loading receivable transactions into the General Ledger (Agresso).
  • Generate and distribute invoices / statements to brokers via email or mail as appropriate.
  • Work independently to review receivable reports regularly and follow guidelines for collecting outstanding premium via contact with Underwriting team member and external Brokers, including email follow up and processing Oden letters.
  • Provide recommendations to management on process improvement to manual processes and current technology platforms.
  • Assist with implementation/enhancements of systems for receivable processing, invoice creation, and premium related management information.
  • Process Premium Finance notices - check for accuracy, creation of letters, uploading documents to Beazley systems. Process cancellations and reinstatements as necessary.
  • Liaison with Premium Finance Companies with any notices received to determine accuracy and validity of financial agreements.
  • Process Cash into the General Ledger (Agresso) as necessary; investigate discrepancies as needed
  • Timely and accurate completion of state premium tax returns and other state data calls for assigned states.
  • Assist with monthly financial responsibilities - participate in the monthly close, preparation of journal entries, compilation of financial statements and analysis of financial activity.
  • Cross train other team members to ensure that the team consistently meets with SLAs with Underwriting.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred

Knowledge and Experience

  • Billing and Collection experience
  • 3-10 years experience in Accounts Receivable / Collections
  • Property & Casualty Insurance experience, a plus

Salary for this role will be tailored to the successful individual's location and experience. The expected compensation range for this position is $60,000-$65,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus.
