This Position reports to:

Chapter Leader-Solution Product Management Construction & Infrastructure

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to business strategy definition, translate business strategy and market requirements into competitive portfolio and manage associated portfolio planning, investment and development activity.

The work model for the role is flexible and can accommodate a remote location depending on skills and experience. If remote, travel (by air) will be required to support activities within the group, as well as to interface personally with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will support and be part of the Product team for ABB's NEMA Switchboard Portfolio. You will be introduced to various activities in the product life cycle, including market introductions & launches, maintenance, pricing, and product exits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Global Product Managers in the new product development process from project specification to product launch.

  • Assist sales and marketing teams in the launch and market introduction of new products providing global documentation and education.

  • Collaboration with internal teams (i.e. Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Research & Development, Supply Chain, and Supply Chain Management) to ensure all product and market objectives are met.

  • Development of product trainings for internal teams, sales communities, and customers.

  • Drive profitability action and reporting.

  • Support the development, preparation, and maintenance of empower sales configurator.

  • Find and leverage opportunities to gain customer insights (including personal interaction) to develop, share, and drive customer centric viewpoints.

  • Define customer value proposition, ensuring clear communication to channels and users. Support clear positioning within the portfolio and against competitor offerings.

  • Define product positioning and pricing strategy within the Switchboard portfolio with defined values per product line to address different channel/segment /geography needs.

  • Serve as the product line data referent. Manage and coordinate efforts to ensure complete and accurate product data, models, etc. for both internal and customer use.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field, Masters a Plus.

  • 2 years of experience in an industrial environment in an engineering, product marketing, sales, or product management role.

  • Basic knowledge of power distribution products.

  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Self-motivated and purposeful with analytical, logical, problem-solving and organizational skills, combined with an excellent style of collaboration.

  • Assertiveness and ability to work in a virtual team.

  • Proficient with Microsoft office.

  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%, occasionally internationally.

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $79,800 and $127,680 annually.
