DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in entry-level technical tasks related to construction projects, primarily in a training capacity. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all construction activities adhere to the approved codes, plans, standards, and specifications. The focus of your duties will involve participating in various technical functions, particularly in inspecting materials and workmanship on transportation construction projects to verify compliance with contract stipulations and established standards. You will be tasked with developing inspection checklists tailored to each operation under your purview, which will necessitate thorough research of relevant contract items as outlined in Pub 408, POM, RC Standards, BC Standards, BD Standards, special provisions, and any other pertinent documentation. Additionally, you will assist in inspecting all phases of transportation construction work, which includes verifying grades, elevations, and the proper staking of structures and roadways. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or
- One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires possession of a a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
