If you have a passion for healthcare and share our common goal to help increase patient access to affordable, high-quality products and services, we encourage you to apply!The Senior Accounts Payable & Sales Tax Specialist is responsible for managing high-volume vendor payables, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and overseeing multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax compliance. This role requires a blend of advanced AP skills, strong knowledge of sales tax regulations, and the ability to partner cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and maintain compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives under deadlines, and can work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAccounts Payable (40%)Process, review, and reconcile high-volume vendor invoices in accordance with company policies.Perform 3-way and 2-way PO matching, verifying quantities, pricing, and terms.Research and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.Maintain accurate AP aging, ensuring payment schedules are met and vendors remain in good standing.Review vendor statements, reconcile outstanding balances, and manage vendor communications.Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.Support process improvement initiatives for AP automation and efficiency.Sales & Use Tax (60%)Review, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple states and jurisdictions with the use of Avalara.Research taxability of products and services and ensure correct tax application in ERP systems.Maintain and validate resale/exemption certificates for customers.Monitor changes in sales tax laws and rates; communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.Respond to tax notices, audits, and inquiries from taxing authorities.Reconcile sales tax liability accounts and ensure timely remittance of payments.Primary job responsibilities are those which an employee must be able to perform with or without accommodation. Requirements QUALIFICATIONSRequired Education and Experience:5+ years of full-cycle AP experience, preferably in a multi-entity, multi-state environment.2+ years of sales and tax compliance experience.Experience with ERP systems and tax software (Avalara).Strong understanding of GAAP as it relates to AP and tax accounting.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).High attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Education and Experience:Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.Experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct preferred.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSNo travel requirements specified.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
