We have an opportunity for a Key Account Manager - Landscape Supply - to join our Delavan, WI team. You will be responsible for helping develop, implement, and lead a focused sales strategy for the Water Supply / Water Disposal business category focused on the Landscape Irrigation Channel and National Distributors. The responsibilities will include managing relationships with Key Landscape customers and National Distributors in the United Staes. Manage organization and guidance of sales policies and practices to provide maximum market penetration of products. This role is part of the Residential & Irrigation Flow Business Unit and reports directly to the Senior Sales Manager for the category. Charged with developing a strategy to attain aggressive growth targets. This role is to increase revenues and profitability through managing and servicing existing accounts while pursuing new accounts. In this role, the Distribution Development Manager - Landscape will work closely with assigned Distribution Partners, as well as own the relationship and with key partners. The Distribution Development Manager - Landscape will work to drive key account sales growth and develop new business in the channel. In addition, they will work closely with Product Management, Sales Operations, Marketing, and Customer Service to help develop the tools needed to elevate customer experience. Finally, they will recommend and assist in the promotion, organization and guidance of sales policies and practices in an efficient manner to maximize market penetration of products.

You will:

  • Own relationship and strategy for assigned customers and develop and grow new business.
  • Achieves or surpasses sales quota in assigned region.
  • Understands customer organizations' business, hierarchy, and needs.
  • Establishes annual account plans (sales objectives, tactics, responsibility, and timing) for both assigned Landscape Supply customers and new business.
  • Develops and maintains a strong relationship built on mutual trust, respect and cooperation with direct customers and other channel partners, distribution management and strategic accounts.
  • Reviews organization and customer sales performance on a regular basis.
  • Meets with sales organization, distributors, and customers on a regular basis to keep them informed about products, product lines, and production capabilities.
  • Assists distributors, direct accounts, and other channel partners with product promotion.
  • Attends trade shows and assists in the selection and preparation of samples and promotional materials.
  • Becomes an expert at market intelligence, competitor, and distributor pricing/programs/strategy.
  • Coordinates sales activities and communicates customer product requirements with other departments such as marketing, manufacturing, engineering, and operations.
  • Resolves problems from the field that require special or elevated handling.
  • Is the face of Pentair Water Supply / Water Disposal at industry tradeshows and organizations with key decision makers.
  • Keeps Sales leaders informed us of important matters that require immediate action or attention.
  • Uses Salesforce (CRM) to manage sales team opportunities and drive results.
  • Support SIOP forecasting with information related to sales for forecasting needs.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to all sales leads generated by Pentair.
  • Manages Pricing and Promotional offers for assigned accounts.
  • Maximizes the potential for conversion of leads to sales.
  • Ensures accurate reporting and accounting of Sales leads assigned through proper use of daily recaps and ongoing reporting.
  • Provides Market feedback to Product Managers and Sales Leaders about competition, customer issues, and trends.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering or Science (B.A., B.S.) obtained or in process, MBA a plus,
  • 5-7 years' experience in the sales of pumps, drives and systems, preferably in the water well and water disposal markets preferred. Product-specific training will be provided.
  • Industry experience, managing distribution, working with strategic accounts and new business development.
  • Preferred experience and understanding of pump applications in the water well and water disposal markets.
  • Ability to understand the applications and recommend the best technical solution.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new applications.
  • Ability to organize and manage distributors and dealer/contractors.
  • Ability to make technical presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Salesforce, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI, and Microsoft Teams

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated TTC range will be from $92200 - $171100 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with a demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus and/or sales incentives.
