Spencer Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Weigh Master / Administrative Support professional to join our team. This multifaceted role is responsible for overseeing material weigh-ins/outs, ensuring quality control compliance, and providing administrative support to project management and field operations. The ideal candidate is reliable, accurate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Weigh Master Duties

  • Operate and maintain truck scale systems for inbound and outbound materials.
  • Accurately record weights, load tickets, and material receipts.
  • Verify driver credentials, load information, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Communicate with dispatch, project managers, and drivers to ensure efficiency in load movement.
  • Maintain daily records and reports of scale transactions.

Quality Control Duties

  • Monitor and record material quality to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist in sampling, testing, and inspecting construction materials (aggregate, asphalt, concrete, etc.).
  • Document test results and report non-conformances to supervisors.
  • Support project managers and superintendents with compliance reporting and record-keeping.
  • Promote safety and quality standards on all job sites.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain organized records of weigh tickets, QC reports, and project documentation.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and electronic record management.
  • Provide clerical support to project teams, including scheduling, correspondence, and reporting.
  • Support payroll, invoicing, and purchase order processes as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings, safety trainings, and compliance reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in construction management, business, or related field preferred).
  • Experience in construction, materials testing, or weigh master role a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to learn company software systems.
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to work in an office and field environment (outdoor conditions at times).
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and operate equipment for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
