  • Tuesday - Saturday - 12 PM - 8:30 PM


Job Purpose and Overview

The Production Supervisor coordinates and supervises the activities of the Production Team. Ensures safe production of quality products to meet customer needs in the most cost-effective manner. Promotes both food and personal safety. May occasionally lead, make decisions and collaborate with departments that support production.

What will you do as a Production Supervisorat Dawn Foods?



  • Establish and drive safety as a core value through training, equipment and job design, work assignments and regulatory compliance.
  • Assures that all product produced meets the product specifications, food safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish high performance standards in housekeeping, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), American Institute of Baking (AIB), International Food Standard (IFS) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements.
  • Manages daily production requirements to consistently meet customer expectations.
  • Evaluate team performance efficiencies and coordinates necessary resources.
  • Coaches, teaches and coordinates and evaluates programs for team members to develop skills advantageous to the companies needs and goals.
  • Able to manage some initial employee relation matters and conflict
  • Participates as a key member of the plant leadership.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Production Manager.
  • Adhere to the Food Defense and Security functions within the facility.



What Does It Take to be a Production Supervisor at Dawn Foods?



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • BA degree strongly desired OR 4 years of experience in lieu if degree.
  • Two (2) years' supervisory experience in manufacturing required. Food manufacturing is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers required. Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be mature and have the ability to resolve issues in a timely, organized and cost-efficient manner.
  • Proactive, self-directed independent worker with self-confidence.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to grasp, move, or utilize objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to use sensory perception for quality measurement of products.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
  • Temperature fluctuates with the season - colder during the winter/warmer during the summer
  • Working around heavy machinery - hearing protection required in production area



Note:The level of physical effort may vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than documented here.The Production Supervisor may not perform the physical demands listed above daily but should be prepared to do so situationally.

Compensation Range

$67,020 - $103,210
