Overview

In addition to performing the basic duties of a Foreman on a construction site, the General Foreman oversees the work of Next 150 Construction personnel within a specific geography.


Responsibilities

Area Foreman typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist the appropriate Project Managers and Superintendents with assigning and coordinating Next 150 staff within assigned geography
- Partner with Next 150 Manager and Gilbane project team to ensure manpower and resources are adequate
- Work with the appropriate Project Managers and Superintendents to establish project goals and monitoring the success
- Review and monitor labor efficiencies, hours and scopes of work for the duration of the project(s). Maintain a project schedule and update weekly.
- Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite to perform the required work
- Assist with hiring and on-boarding of staff in assigned geography
- Assist with the training of Next 150 employees across multiple project sites within a defined geography
- Help to resolve personnel issues as they arise, including the administration of disciplinary action
- Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
- Assist in the production of schedules, monitor attendance of crew, and sign off on time worked
- Allocate general and daily responsibilities
- Comply with all safety precautions and ensure that quality standards are met
- Report on progress to the appropriate Project Managers
- Provide labor support as necessary
- Provide leadership in fostering a teamwork environment


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED
- 7+ years of construction experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- In-depth understanding of construction principles and procedures
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate and report effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
- Ability to work in a team environment
- OSHA 30 hour certified
WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently or occasionally required to:
- Sit, stand or walk
- Climb or balance
- Stoop, crouch and step over obstacles
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Work in an outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity
- Work in environment with dust, loud noise and/or vibrations
