The role

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full-time, Regional Strategy & Execution Lead to act as a trusted partner to the Americas Chief Operating Officer and Business Leadership Team. This Executive Manager-level role is designed for a professional who thrives at the intersection of strategic planning, analytical rigor, operational excellence, and disciplined execution. Success in this role depends less on technical specialization and more on the drive, curiosity, and intellectual agility to navigate a dynamic, fast-growing global firm and translate ideas into meaningful impact.

The successful incumbent will lead the definition, implementation, and execution of regional and office-level strategies, drive high-impact business initiatives, and shape and advance productivity efforts that enable the region to deliver on its strategic priorities. This role can be based in either New York, DC, or Houston and will report to the Regional Chief Operating Officer - Americas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Partnership
    • Facilitate the development of regional and office strategies in alignment with global priorities.
    • Lead strategic planning sessions with practice and functional leadership to define priorities and success metrics.
    • Translate strategic vision into clear, actionable initiatives that drive measurable progress across the region.
  • Initiative Leadership & Execution
    • Drive implementation of strategic roadmaps with clear milestones and accountability frameworks.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex initiatives on time and within budget.
    • Monitor KPIs to adapt execution priorities and plans in response to performance trends and market conditions.
  • Organizational Design & Operational Excellence
    • Manage confidential initiatives and projects related to organizational design, process improvement, and productivity enhancement.
    • Champion change management efforts and cultivate stakeholder engagement across cross-functional teams.
    • Leverage data-driven insights and industry best practices to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Stakeholder Management & Coordination
    • Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership, distilling complex information into clear, decision-ready materials, and actionable insights.
    • Draft executive-level presentations and communications that clearly convey strategic priorities and progress.
    • Build consensus across global, regional, and practice stakeholders without formal authority.
    • Organize and facilitate leadership forums including town halls, offsites, and strategy sessions to foster alignment and engagement across the region.

Qualifications

Your experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or professional services.
  • Advanced degree required (MBA, JD, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting or partnering with senior executives (e.g. COO, CEO or other C-suite) preferred.
  • Experience in the legal industry or within a global law firm, with an understanding of professional services and partnership dynamics, is strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in leading strategic initiatives and managing cross-functional projects in matrixed organizations.
  • Strong financial acumen, analytical capabilities, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision within a team-oriented environment
  • Experience with organizational design, process improvement, and change management methodologies and tools preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Must be willing to work outside the core business hours.
  • Must be able to adhere and comply to the Firm's Agile Working Policy which requires employees to work from the office at least three days each calendar week.
  • Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $155,000 - $225,000. The actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
