A Brief Overview The Senior Associate Director, Foundation Operations & Engagement designs and leads initiatives to optimize employee learning and engagement for the life cycle of Foundation staff. This position proactively identifies ways of operationalizing the Foundation's talent goals, as described in the department's strategic and annual plans, and then creates, executes, and promotes those activities. This role conceptualizes, designs, and drives activities across the following categories: recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, professional development, internal communication, engagement, and workforce planning. This role will also be the Event Lead for twice-annual in-person Foundation Summits and four virtual All Staff meetings. Summit and All Staff Meeting planning require strategic thinking, high levels of collaboration across teams and project management. This position will develop mutually beneficial relationships and regularly liaise with partners across the enterprise, HR Onboarding and Talent Acquisition teams.
What you will do Onboarding & Offboarding Lead:
- Oversee comprehensive onboarding program for first 90 Days for new employees alongside their managers at Foundation
- Managing with collaboration of Assistant Director O&L for post 90 days check-in to hear about onboarding experience, manager involvement, team engagement and future outlook
- Mainly responsible for design and execution of Foundation's New Hire Orientation (NHO) for in-person learning event
- In close collaboration with Assistant Director of O&L facilitate of NHO logistics, planning of sessions and scheduling presenters
- Offboarding ( Resignation, voluntary termination):
- Manage off-boarding tasks in Workfront
- Assist manager/employee navigating employee separation in support form HRBP
Extended Leave:
- Ensure Workfront request has been submitted
- Delegate tasks in Workfront
- Assist manager/employee with any questions
- Return from Leave: Welcome back conversation to review questions, any major changes to Foundation etc.
Event Lead for Bi-Annual Foundation Summit/Conference:
- Management and responsibility of overseeing summit event from theme planning, logistics and overall execution of bi-yearly CHOP Foundation Summit
- Collaborate & iterate: Brainstorm with the Summit planning team and look to inspiration from past themes, CHOP enterprise-wide messaging, or major organizational initiatives (e.g. campaigns, restructuring, culture shifts)
- Define & Align: Ensure the theme aligns with CHOP's mission and current priorities
- Design sessions, experiences, and visuals that bring the theme to life
- Invite internal or external partners (when aligned with existing scopes of work) to contribute in meaningful, mission-aligned ways
- Manage agenda design considerations that reflects planning through the lens of entire fiscal year
- Guide Summit team recruitment process and team expectations for participation
- Assess staff feedback & organizational climate
Event Lead for all Staffing Meetings Learning & Professional Development:
- Professional Development:
- Facilitate Foundation Manager Trainings like Culture, Empathy as a First Response and Recruit to Retain
- Oversee communication strategy and awareness to managers and Enterprise Communications for important updates regarding mandatory training, onboarding and other announcements
- Work closely with AD of Training & Capacity Building to enter trainings in Workday Learning
- Partner with CHOP HR:
- Member of Onboarding Governance Committee with HR Onboarding team
- Liaison with CHOP Talent Acquisition (TA) and meet regularly for Huddles to manage recruitment timelines
- Consult with partners in Human Resources to promote and assist in the interpretation of CHOP's Human Resources Policies and Procedures
- Assist managers in creating new positions in Workday
- Partner with TA Specialist to create documentation and best practices for recruitment needs
Facilitating Foundation learning and events Regular maintenance of CHOP Foundation's Onboarding Manual and Manager Resource Guide
- Management of strategic partnerships for Foundation's Early Career Growth program:
- Lead and manage partnership with YearUp United (YUU) and Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for hiring interns at Foundation
- Primary lead for communication, logistics and staff support
- Interface with YUU partners and CASE Lead Team Support
- Attend in-person networking events
- Develop strategy to enhance pipeline development
- Participate in mentoring and coaching calls
- Provide overall leadership and guidance to Foundation staff
- Perform phone screens and identify talent
- Responsible for forming CASE Lead Working Group (within Foundation) and develop project timelines and groups for cohort
Conceptualize, design and drive project activities that support staff learning and engagement and advance their learning goals that support Foundation's strategic and annual plans Guide Foundation staff members who have questions related to their learning and engagement, connecting them in a timely manner with enterprise and department-specific resources, as appropriate and available Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least seven (7) years of training, human resources or organizational development related experience Required
- At least one (1) year of leadership, management or supervisory experience Required

$89,840.00 - $114,550.00 Annually
