Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX, Pennington, NJ and Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage bridge line troubleshooting, engage in technical research, and escalate issues to leadership
- Ensure all impacts are accurately recorded and documented in the system of record, verify documents and wikis are updated and available for use during triage
- Support on call responsibilities for incidents, the documentation of application flows, impacts during outages, customer experience, and contacts for support needs
- Troubleshoot, analyze, research, and resolution using advanced query, programming skills, conduct root cause analysis, identify mitigations/risk, real-time restoration, triage the issues impact technical services (application/infrastructure) to client customers and partner in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period
- Assess initial severity, gather impacts, engage necessary supporting teams, and escalate as necessary to ensure timely restoration
- Identify business impact, interpret monitors, dashboards, and logs, and write queries to accurately calculate and communicate impacts to leadership in partnership with senior team members or specialists within technology services
- Promote and enforce production governance during triage, and identify production failure scenarios, vulnerabilities, and opportunity for improvement, determine appropriate actions, and escalate issues
- Analyze, manage, and coordinate incident management activities to detect problems that potentially affect the service level
- Fulfill research requests, ad hoc reports, and offline incidents at the direction of senior team members or the technology/production services teams
- Provide front-line technical support to end users responding to issues related to Incident / problem management, release/deployment, operational readiness, application monitoring production governance
- Work closely with technology infrastructure and development teams in supporting Integrated / Independent releases, software/hardware upgrades, server upgrades, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field
- 5+ years of overall experience
- 5+ years of relevant IT experience in application production support with strong exposure to level two production support tasks
- Strong production support background with exposure to level two production support tasks
- Experience on working with Oracle/PL SQL, Unix/Linux, Autosys, JIL script, windows/networking basics
- Knowledge in Informatica, Hadoop, BI reporting tools
- Understanding incidents, problems, change management
- Good analytical and reasoning skills
- Excellent communication Interpersonal and relationship development skills
- Exposure to working in global team
- Experience on working with Oracle/ PL SQL, OBI, Hadoop, Collibra, Informatica, Unix/Linux, Autosys, JIL script, windows/networking basics
- Experience with on-call support for triaging problems, coordinating with various support teams across the organization and carryout activities related to incident and problem management
- .NET
- ITIL / SRE certification
- Automation skills to reduce manual activities

Pay range:
$53.52 - $61.52
