Pay: $20.00 per hour

Northwestern University is seeking a temporary full-time Program Assistant for the Evanston campus.

Temporary Job Description:

This position provides clerical and administrative support for the International Institute for Nanotechnology's various research, education, and public outreach programs and activities. Responsibilities include: assisting with small and large events of all types and general clerical support; creating and maintaining associated documents, spreadsheets, databases, for meetings and special events. Advises supervisor of critical issues.

Responsibilities

May include but are not limited to:

Event and Program Support

  • Coordinates events which may include scheduling rooms and arranging for routine materials, A/V, and refreshments.
  • Set-up, monitor, and maintain space during events.
  • Place event signage at pre-determined Evanston Campus locations.
  • Compiles routine reports, statistics, tables, charts, etc. from readily available information.
  • Create and alphabetize event participant name badges.
  • Prepare event handouts and other materials.
  • Collects agenda items and background materials.
  • Organize and maintain event support items and storage.
  • Liaise with event vendors and partners.
  • Answer event participant queries.
  • Additional tasks assigned as necessary.

General Office and Clerical Support

  • Update and maintain listservs.
  • Post pre-approved social media content on Twitter, FB, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Organize bulletin boards, storage, and other areas.
  • Support clerical projects, such as creating documents and managing spreadsheets
  • Additional tasks assigned as necessary.
