OVERVIEW

This Strategic Revenue Management (SRM) role is for someone who is passionate about Revenue Management / Pricing and energized by working at the intersection of Brand, Sales, Finance, Analysis, and Consumer Insights.

In this role, you will support the North America Retail Cereal division by partnering with cross-functional teams and provide analytical rigor to make recommendations on pricing, packaging, promotions, product mix, and terms to drive top-line and/or bottom-line benefits to General Mills. You will be hands-on, results-oriented, and accountable as we continue to build out a high-performing Global Revenue Management capability that will help drive the performance of General Mills now and into the future.

As part of the SRM team, you will develop a deep understanding of P&Ls and how to optimize a business for sales and profit. You will also gain exposure to Trade Finance, Corporate Finance, Sales, and Brand Marketing teams as you develop SRM plans.

This role will include dotted-line leadership of talent outside of the US.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drive Strategic Revenue Management (SRM) work for General Mills - Partner with the Cereal division to build pricing strategies and tactics.
  • Provide direct support to the Cereal division in North America for SRM:
    • Provide subject matter expertise to the division across all 5 levers of SRM: pricing, promotions, packaging, product mix, and terms.
    • Leverage strong analytical and influencing skills to build an SRM roadmap that supports brand strategy, financial needs, and expected market conditions.
  • Lead thinking and partner deeply across functions to drive results: SRM Team, Operating Units/Brands, Finance, Trade Marketing, Sales, Category Management, and Consumer Insights.
  • Conduct analysis and provide insights, leveraging existing and new tools, surface insights, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and influence business partners to consensus and action.
  • Provide pricing expertise:
    • Use multiple techniques, tools, and data sources to develop and analyze potential price/SRM moves.
    • Recommend optimal merchandising levels, depth, frequency, recommend consumer price points, and gaps to competition.
    • Evaluate price structures and trade spending, use historical performance, and predictive models to explain current business performance, and model future outcomes due to price changes and competitive moves.
  • Build Capability:
    • Provide coaching and support to other Strategy SRM team members supporting Operating Units.
    • Capture learnings from actions and build them into next-generation strategies and tools for the broader SRM.
    • Develop and deploy SRM Learning & Development as needed while generating user adoption of SRM Tools.
  • Effectively advocate for SRM principles by providing strong brand support and building trusted relationships with division leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Quantitative field
  • 5+ years in Revenue Management, or sales and marketing strategy and analytics.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, or related industry
  • Ability to operate effectively in white space, comfort with quantitative and strategic challenges, strong analytic skills, business acumen, and understanding of market dynamics.
  • Able to take perspective on consumer behavior and the competitive landscape to help lead thinking and outcomes.
  • Comfort pulling, using, and analyzing multiple data sources: e.g., market research data (Nielsen / IRI / Spins), consumer panel data, trade promotion data, shopper card data, and switching data.
  • Financial acumen
  • Cross-Functional leadership skills.
  • Strong influence and storytelling skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree (Masters)
  • 1+ years of experience in CPG Revenue Management
  • Consumer Pricing and Trade Analytics expertise
  • A strong desire to learn about new trends in revenue management and consumer behavior.

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $108900.00 - $163500.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
