Make banking a Fifth Third better GENERAL FUNCTION: Helps lead in the identification and assessment of risks to evaluate the Bancorp's compliance with Commercial Payments laws, regulations and industry standards. Works mostly self-directed, with minimal supervisory oversight. Also works within department and cross-department teams, such as Business Controls, Legal and Commercial Payments Product. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Work with the Commercial Payment line of business and other support groups to ensure there are sufficient controls to promote an effective compliance program. * Evaluate the effectiveness of new and existing products and services. Identify gaps and recommend additional controls through oversight and advisory governance processes * Recommend protocols and areas of focus for compliance testing. * Support post-implementation validation of regulatory change items, as part of issue remediation, and other areas that may occur. * Assess the adequacy of the business units recommended corrective action to the issues or gaps identified. * Participates in or leads regular meetings with peers to build and maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and risks in the environment. * Participates in or leads meetings with business partners to provide guidance on products and potential regulatory issues. *Reviews and approves marketing content for reg applicability. *Provides escalated complaint dispensation and review for trends. *Helps review and assign annual Compliance courses to business partner teams. *Helps complete the annual Compliance Commercial Payments Risk Assessment . MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: * Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. * 5 years' experience or equivalent work experience; Compliance or Payments knowledge preferred * Computer/Technical: Demonstrates working or functional proficiency sufficient to apply the use of software applications (Micro-Soft Office Suite) without assistance and minimal supervision. * General understanding of Fifth Third banking products, business lines, structure and operations. * Understanding of OCC guidance and general Regulatory issuances with regard to Payments. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effectively communicates upward, downward and laterally.
