We're looking for someone to partner with editorial leaders across the newsroom to make sure that our journalists are at the very top of their game, and that their work rises to the standard our readers have come to expect. You will ensure that journalistic standards and workflows are developed, effectively communicated, monitored, and measured to to produce quality journalism with impact. You will develop and launch blended learning and development forums, provide appropriate resources, and work directly with journalists of all levels to ensure that every member of the newsroom has the skills to perform at the highest levels.

What you will do:

  • Design and deliver effective training programs using blended learning methods, including coaching and resource development.
  • Lead change initiatives, influence cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Uphold and model journalistic ethics, standards, and Bloomberg Industry Group style in all editorial work.
  • Produce high-quality writing, reporting, and editing under deadline pressure and across multiple projects.
  • Drive talent and performance management to meet editorial standards and business objectives.
  • Foster collaboration and maintain strong organizational and interpersonal relationships.
  • Provide exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Set high performance standards and lead by example.

You need to have:

  • A minimum of 10 years of journalism experience, with 3+ years' experience in training and development, staff mentorship, team leadership, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective training programs using blended methodologies e.g., e-learning, classroom, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Demonstrated effective capabilities in managing change, influencing others, and communicating at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in English, journalism, or related field of study.
  • Demonstrated excellent writing, reporting, and editing skills.
  • Excellent organization, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
