Military Analyst III (SDEDT)

Valiant Integrated Services, a prominent leader in the Defense Services industry, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Military Analysist III to oversee training support services for the Army at the Mission Training Complex (MTC) at JBLM, Washington. This position is a full-time Exempt (salary) position, supporting the MTC JBLM Staff Training and Exercise Development Team (STEDT). The Military Analyst III provides Instruction on Army Staff training and Certification doctrine and best practices from real world experience and study of current Mission Command and Command and Control theory and application. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to maintain strong communication and collaboration with military customers, government officials, and contract staff, working closely with department leads, government leadership, and the contract Program Manager to ensure successful program execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):



  • Provide United States Army MDMP, Mission Command and Staff Training instruction, in a variety of formats to Soldiers, Leaders both in a classroom and training exercise environment.


  • Create Staff Training and Development classes and Programs of Instruction.


  • Participate in Staff Exercises as a member of EXCON and as required provide over-the-shoulder mentorship/support to the training audience.


  • Act as a HICOM/ Role player as required to facilitate Command Post Training Exercises


  • As needed, provide support to BAB and EAB teams for large scale exercises or periods of high volume training.


  • Lead in OPORD writing to either create new OPORDER products or update/adapt current OPORDERs to facilitate staff and Command Post exercises to meet unit requirements for CP Certification training.


  • Coordinate directly with units residing at JBLM to analyze staff and leadership training requirements and develop a broad range of training solutions that best support Commander's training Programs.


  • Research and incorporate latest Army Doctrine, CTC and MCOE Lessons Learned, as well as Mission Command best practices and techniques into training materials.


  • Assist in maintaining relevancy and currency of the Staff Training and Exercise Development Team products, services, webpages, and reference library.


  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on your branch/Military Occupational Specialty for training product development and during training and exercises.

  • Successfully served as a Sergeant Major, or Command Sergeant Major, or Battalion Executive Officer, or Battalion Commander.


  • Experience in training U.S. Army Staffs, at Battalion through Corps levels.


  • Proficient with current U.S. Army Doctrine: Unified Land Operations, Mission Command, Training Unit staffs and Developing Staff Training Exercises through the Army Training Management Cycle and Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).


  • Experienced and able to lead group discussions and facilitate Socratic-style learning.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS and SharePoint software programs and use of the Army Training Network (ATN).


  • Possess and maintain a Secret Clearance.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Master's Degree preferred.


  • Completed U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (ILE), or Sergeants Major Academy, or equivalent. War College graduate Preferred.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position: Office environment, occasionally outdoors. Occasional exposure to natural conditions exists at different locationsaround the US.

Work Week:Monday-Friday (may vary based on mission requirements)

Work Hours:0730 - 1630 (may vary based on mission requirements)

Overtime:As Required

Travel:As Required

DIRECT REPORTS: MA II when appropriate
