ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders & Severe Malnutrition (3M) is the world's only Center of Excellence for the treatment of patients with extreme medical complications resulting from eating disorders and severe malnutrition. Nurses in the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders play a vital role on the multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive and collaborative care to this patient population.
The ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders is a 30-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. CNAs and behavioral healthcare techs provide 1:1 care and supervision for every patient. This unique population requires both medical and behavioral interventions.
Job Summary
Under minimal supervision the Kitchen Supervisor will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure food quality standards are maintained, and lead kitchen staff to deliver exceptional service. They will be in charge of inventory, scheduling and other tasks assigned by their manager. They will be responsible for stepping into a nutrition technician role (food service) in the absence of a nutrition technician for up to 40 hours/wk.
Essential Functions:
- Provides leadership for kitchen staff, including defining and redefining the dietary service model and strategy, supervising and managing staff, identifying and coordinating with implementation to ensure high-quality, relevant, patient centered service delivery aligned with mission and goals (15%)
- Recruits, trains, and assists dietary staff in setting individuals goals and objectives. Promotes positive and supportive work environment and provides continuing support in helping personnel to accomplish their goals, as well as in work methods, processes, policies and procedures. (10%)
- Conducts performance appraisals and counsel employees on performance issues (5%)
- Approves time cards and PTO for nutrition technicians (5%)
- Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of nutrition technicians (10%)
- Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately (10%)
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise (5%)
- Provide backup coverage for nutrition technicians during standard business hours (Tuesday - Saturday) (10%)
- Coordinate menu development and nutritional program development with Nutrition Services Manager (5%)
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards (5%)
- Facilitate departmental performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accreditation (5%)
- Perform projects and duties as assigned by Nutrition Servies Manager (10%)

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- 1-3 years Experience in supervisor/manager role Required
- 1-3 years Food service experience
Licenses:
- SERVSAFEFOOD-ServSafe Food Handle - ANSI - American National Standards Institute Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of safe food preparation techniques
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Knowledge and/or ability to learn safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment
- Skill in understanding and following oral, illustrated, written or demonstrated instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
Shift Work Type Regular
Salary $23.23 - $32.52 / hr
