Texas Urology Specialists is looking for an Executive Director to join our team! This full-time position will support the Texas Urology Specialists part of Texas Oncology.

Highly desired that the candidate resides in the Dallas, Austin, or Houston area. This position will require travel about 20% of the time.

What does the Executive Director do?

Sets the strategy and leads the operational aspects of all Texas Urology Specialists (TUS) activities and programs across the organization in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Advises the VP, Surgery Operations, and the TUS Executive Committee to ensure Texas Urology Specialists operations and practice are consistent with organizational objectives, maintenance of quality patient care and financial profitability. Recommends organizational objectives to ensure financial profitability through short- and long-range planning to achieve and maintain growth. Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of organizational strategies and plans to meet changing national, state, and local needs. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to The US Oncology Network Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Supports the development of short- and long-range plans of the clinical services organization, working in close partnership with the VP of Surgery, Operations
  • Ensures development and establishment of policies, procedures and objectives and ensures their adequate execution, compliance and update.
  • Evaluates general and specific business conditions as they relate to operational issues, and keeps the TUS Executive Committee, TxO Operations Board and the Surgical Vice President fully advised on these matters.
  • Ensures adherence to legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting all workplace regulations. Continually monitors exposure of the organization. Directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance. Submits information to company Human Resources prior to distribution to government agencies.
  • Oversees the employee evaluation process, including but not limited to performance evaluations, merit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensures financial stability of practice by supporting budget development and adherence, develops and complies with expense control programs, as well as top line growth.
    Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, assessing and communicating organization progress.
  • Supports the business development and assessment of state and local target markets.
  • Develops plans and recommends on expansion of service area and development of new and profitable business ventures.
  • Negotiates medical services and analyzes competitor pricing activities. Recommends, implements and administers changes in pricing structures as approved by the Policy Board(s). Ensures financial analysis/modeling of competitive pricing information is conducted. Ensures timely communication to Surgical Vice President, for policy changes (contract administration) and implementation of approved and published price lists. Develops systems for reviewing, tracking and implementing the performance of managed care contracts.
  • Maintains responsibility for the analysis of submitted utilization data provided in RFPs. Maintains responsibility for, and ensures effective margin analysis for bids, quotes and unique billing arrangements.
  • Maintains physician/practice relationships via effective communication to physician practice leadership and works with physician leadership to ensure the practices strategic short and long term plans are in concert with US Oncology's plans.
  • Serves as the operational and programmatic leader of Urology Specialty workstreams, programs, and strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Active leader in all IMA activities, business growth and onboarding of new practices/locations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Executive Director position will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field (MHA, MBA, or MS in Health Administration preferred).
  • Minimum seven years of experience in healthcare management and operations, including at least three years in a managerial capacity.
