The US Oncology Network is seeking a strategic and technical Associate Director - Technical Capability Owner Unified Communications to join our team at Texas Oncology. This position will be primarly located in Dallas, Texas. Some travel may be necessary.

What does this position do?

The Associate Director - Technical Capability Owner Unified Communications will lead the Telephony & Unified Communications (UC) function. This role will ensure sustained technical ownership and strategic alignment across platforms such as Genesys, Cisco Webex, and Salesforce. The Capability Owner will act as a business technology partner, supporting long-term capability evolution and providing light IT project management support. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Strategic Oversight

  • Define and evolve the telephony & UC strategy aligned to business needs and budgets.
  • Partner with business leaders and TMO to shape architecture, governance, and vendor strategy.
  • Act as the regional steward for enterprise capabilities, ensuring alignment and feedback loops with enterprise owners.

Product Roadmap Ownership

  • Own the roadmap for call center platforms, conferencing tools, and telephony systems.
  • Align platform features and enhancements with business needs and strategic direction.

Tactical Execution

  • Provide light PM support and coordinate with McKesson engineers for system delivery and maintenance.
  • Lead/support rollouts, migrations, and major changes.
  • Track licenses, optimize costs, and ensure scalability.

Technical Stewardship

  • Act as primary liaison to vendors (Cisco, Genesys, etc.), managing SLAs and contracts.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance, security controls, and business continuity.
  • Maintain runbooks, SOPs, architecture documentation, and dependency maps.

  • NLP/Agentic AI/Chat tools
  • Future sub-capabilities evolving from unified communications

  • Business Technology Partnership: Translate business needs into technical execution.
  • BAU Transition: Sustain ownership post-implementation of Project Touchpoint.
  • Strategic Ownership Gap: Fill the void in centralized technical accountability.
  • Technical Complexity: Address integration demands with EHRs, IVR, and call center platforms.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

    Or

    Associate's Degree + four (4) years of related work experience

    Or

    High School diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years of related work experience

  • 6+ years of product/capability management experience, with a focus on telecom, call center platforms, or voice technologies.
  • Deep understand of voice channels and telephony systems.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical requirements into user-friendly, scalable solutions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, setting clear goals, and collaborating cross-functionality.
  • Experience with conversational AI, speech recognition, or voice bots is a strong plus.
  • Proven experience actively building one or more products, with a strong understanding of when and how to apply evaluation metrics - especially in AI and NLP contexts.
  • Demonstrated success at driving results in a fast-paced environment and managing simultaneously competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
