STATUS: Temporary/Seasonal, Full-Time, Non-Exempt

WORK HOURS: Monday through Saturday - up to 40 hours a week

Start date: November 10, 2025 End date: December 24, 2025

POSITION SUMMARY:

Deliver kettle stands to locations prior to the start of the bellringing shift. Drive bellringers to and from their scheduled locations daily. Perform other seasonal duties as assigned by Corps Officers/Kettle Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license and pass a MVR check.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Pass The Salvation Army in-house online driver training.
• Lift up to 30 pounds.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Handle confidential information appropriately as required by The Salvation Army and applicable federal and state laws
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with employees, clients, volunteers, retail staff, agency representatives, community members, and others.
• Must be able to work Monday through Saturday.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

• Report to the Corps location each workday at 8:30am for schedules, kettles, supply loading, and other critical information.
• Review the daily schedules with the Kettle Coordinator and Corps Officer.
• After reviewing daily kettle schedules, gather all supplies needed for paid and volunteer kettle workers at all store locations (kettles, bells, aprons, timecards, ponchos, hand-warmers, gloves, etc.).
• Drive route daily, delivering and/or meeting kettle workers at their assigned locations.
• Remind kettle workers each day of their responsibility to behave appropriately while ringing, stay at their assigned location, and work together with other kettle workers to take breaks and lunch.
• Driver will ring at a location between pick-ups and drop-offs of kettles.
• At the end of each shift, pick up each kettle and worker (if needed) and make sure the kettle stand is in its assigned location for the night.
• A cell phone will be assigned and must be kept charged and available for incoming and outgoing calls and/or texts during each shift.
• Report any issues immediately to the Corps Officer and Kettle Coordinator.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Corps Officer and Kettle Coordinator.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
• Ability to grasp, push and pull objects and reach overhead
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to understand, use and respond to written information
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to follow directions to locations
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in outside inclement weather, and there may be some physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomfort with noise, rain, snow, dust, dirt, and similar.
