A Taste of What You'll Do

Join our Harvest Laboratory Internship Program and immerse yourself in the dynamic world of winemaking. We are seeking enthusiastic candidates for a 5- to 6-month internship, typically from July through December, where you will have the unique opportunity to connect with professionals across all levels of our company, including production, laboratory, and winemaking teams. This fast-paced environment promises an engaging and comprehensive experience in the wine industry.

As a harvest lab intern, your role is pivotal to ensuring the quality and success of our wine production. You will assist in lab blends, conduct fining trials, monitor wine health, and perform sampling, gaining firsthand experience in essential winemaking processes. Your daily tasks will include executing detailed analyses of grapes, juice, and wine, measuring vital components such as yeast and bacteria, Brix, Alcohol, pH, TA, Free & Total SO2, RS, ML, VA, NH3, and NOPA in our analytical laboratory. Additionally, you will sample tanks and barrels to aid in monitoring fermentations, ensuring our wines meet the highest standards.

What You'll Need

  • Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree in the following areas OR have obtained a Bachelor's degree in: College of Agriculture, College of Sciences, or College of Engineering (majors in Biomedical, Biological, Environmental, Industrial or Chemical Engineering only; Business or social sciences degrees are not eligible for this internship, such as ag business, psychology, etc).
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to drive to and from varying winery locations as needed.
  • Required to lift and move up to 45 lbs.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to climb fixed stairs with handrails and vertical ladders with hoop cages to a height of 40 feet.
  • Requires availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Required to have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Experience computing mathematical formulas and basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
