THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The position involves the comprehensive management of the buildings, grounds, facility assets, and infrastructure associated with PennDOT's Central Office Locations, which include the Keystone Building, the Materials and Testing Lab, Fleet Management, and the leased Riverfront Office Center. Your responsibilities will focus on ensuring that these facilities operate in alignment with principles of environmental sustainability, adherence to health and safety regulations, and fostering positive community relations, all while meeting the operational needs of the department. In addition, you will oversee the statewide fire alarm and sprinkler system contract, which encompasses more than 50 sites, including engineering districts, county maintenance offices, garages, welcome centers, rest areas, and the central office building. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing the Security Camera system program across 47 welcome center and safety rest area locations throughout the state. This role requires travel and the ability to respond to emergencies at any hour, ensuring that the department's facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. You must be available for 24-hour emergency response.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; or
  • Two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; and a bachelor's degree in construction technology, architecture, building science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, building automation systems, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
